Meet the doctors
Meet Dr. Lister
Dr. Lister moved to New Orleans in 2003 after graduating from medical school at the University of Arkansas. He completed his residency at Tulane and Ochsner hospitals, where he was chief resident of Pediatrics from 2006-2007.
After completing residency, he joined the faculty of Tulane’s Department of Pediatrics, working for 5 years as both an emergency room physician and a hospitalist.
He stepped down from his clinical duties at Tulane in 2013 to start House Call Pediatrics, but remains an associate professor with the Department of Pediatrics, where he teaches healthy lifestyle promotion and obesity prevention to residents and medical students.
From Dr. Lister…
Although I’m not originally from New Orleans, I now call it my home. I feel that house call medicine will work extremely well in this city because of its friendly, outgoing culture. I love getting on my bike and enjoying New Orleans’ beautiful weather and scenery while visiting families, and I hope to encourage others to get out and be active. I’ve always loved the idea of the country doctor going around and seeing patients in their homes, and now with the help of new electronic medical record technology, “old school” meets “new school!”
Meet Dr. Graves
Dr. Helen Graves moved to New Orleans in 2020 after working as a pediatrician in Maryland for four years and in Ohio before that. She graduated from the University of North Carolina School of Medicine and completed her residency at Vidant Medical Center in North Carolina.
Dr. Graves is originally from Charlotte, NC and has three children, one dog and one cat. She loves being outside and exploring New Orleans.
From Dr. Graves…
I love getting to spend time with families in their homes. With house calls, the children are more at ease and you feel like you get to know your patients on a more personal level. There are no more waiting rooms or phone trees, just pediatricians communicating directly with their patients and families.
